Mission of the position

  • Jointly with the respective business lines managers, participates in the elaboration and implements the Trade Finance strategy in Central Europe, across traditional Trade, and Supply Chain Management, in close coordination with Central Europe Country Heads
  • Contributes to position BNPP as a global leader for Trade Finance expertise and knowledge in the market, with full responsibility for its market position in Central Europe


  • Ensures the successful implementation of the Trade Finance organization within the zone and its optimal alignment with the centralized platforms.
  • Ensures that Regional objectives and budgets for the Trade Finance activities are met.
  • Responsible for the quality of trade finance risk booked on clients from the zone. Monitors and optimizes the risk-adjusted returns vis-a-vis capital deployment.
  •  Responsible for the entire suite of Trade Finance products (Traditional and Structured Trade, as well as Supply Chain Management) in the zone. Sets Regional pricing guidelines and validates specific pricing conditions.
  • Ensures appropriate levels of product expertise are mobilized by the local front office teams to best respond to client needs.
  • Guarantees that all deadlines that are applicable to the trade business in Central Europe are met.
  • Manages by example, provides regular feedback, develops his team ensuring challenging targets and development opportunities.
  • Coordinates with Coverage teams to develop, communicate and implement the Trade Finance sales and marketing strategy for the Region.
  • Promotes Transaction Banking sales convergence in close coordination with the regional Head of Cash Management.
  • Develops and executes a distribution strategy for all trade products together with insurance /Syndications teams.
  • Provides leadership and support to the BL teams or Coverage for new products and/or channels.
  • Steers product development & packaging, together with the relevant stakeholders (Central GTS teams, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Tax, Operations…), ensuring appropriate processes and interaction are in place.

What qualities do we look for?

  • University or college degree
  • More than 10y of banking experience in client facing responsibilities.
  • Fluent in English with outstanding presentation and communication skills.
  • Track record in building and leading a high performance international team located in various geographies.
  • A positive and energetic personality, able to influence and inspire.
  • Track record of identifying and structuring complex trade transactions across multiple geographies and legal jurisdictions with good appreciation of risk topics.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Able to deliver under pressure within tight deadlines and with strong capacity for autonomy.
  • A team player with a genuine interest to facilitate other's work.
  • Result-driven, used to manage and be managed through quantitative KPIs.


  • Solid knowledge of all Working Capital Management components.
  • Good knowledge of BNP Paribas' system and strong internal network.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Finance.
  • French and / or [second] Central European-language speaking.
